WMSG Social Event at ISMRM Stockholm

Apparently there is space for a few more, so if you haven't responded yet but would like to go, please let me know by Friday March 6th.

I’ve had some feedback from students and postdocs that they don’t get much chance to interact with other WMSG members at the annual meeting, hence a social event is in order. What better way to break the ice than over a cocktail in a bar whose entire interior, including the glasses, is made from 100% pure clear ice from the Torne River? The Absolut Icebar Stockholm (http://www.absoluticebar.com/web/Hem.aspx#/Hem/About/Stockholm/) is located in downtown Stockholm, and a 40-minute visit including a warm cape, gloves, and a vodka cocktail of your choice served in an ice glass costs SEK 180 (roughly 18 euros) or SEK 125 with a virgin cocktail, including VAT.

I will book a session for Saturday May 1st at 19:30, which can take up to 60 people. While this is directed at WMSG members, all are welcome, but do encourage non-members to sign-up for the WMSG (particularly student members; study group membership is free for us!).

As we are limited to 40 minutes at the ice bar, I propose wandering down to Glenfiddich Warehouse No 68 in the old town afterwards (about a 20 minute walk), which seems to have a large selection of whiskeys and beer, including several Swedish microbrews. Those who have no interest in -5 degree Celsius surroundings are welcome to just meet us at the Glenfiddich Warehouse afterward!

Payment can be made on arrival at the Absolut Icebar.

Hope to see you in Stockholm,
Shannon
